Mission Statement

Hayden Catholic High School exists to support students and families in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ, cultivating a Roman Catholic faith community based on prayer, Gospel virtues, and Christian service. Together, in a setting of academic excellence, we celebrate the dignity of every person and the presence of Christ within each of us.


Hayden Catholic High School’s measure of success is the development of the whole person.  We believe that academic growth is key to the development of our students.  The administration and teaching staff promote high Catholic standards of learning in the classroom and insist on an environment where students can flourish.  Hayden offers classes for all students.  There are course offerings for students needing individualized instruction as well as advanced and college classes for students who strive to excel academically.

  • Highest ACT score in Shawnee County for many years
  • Named by the American College Testing Service (ACT) as 1 of 382 high schools in the nation, 14 in the state of Kansas, and the only 1 in Shawnee County whose curriculum is proven to improve ACT scores
  • Highest percentage of seniors taking the ACT in Shawnee County. . .90% and higher
  • Six National Merit scholars were recognized in the 'Class of 2008.' National Merit Scholars were recognized in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012
  • Highest percentage of graduates going on to college.  . .95% on average
  • College credit/AP available in Algebra, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, American History, English
  • Over $5 million in scholarships awarded annually to the graduates of 2016, averaging $45,945 per student

Athletics & Activities

Hayden Catholic High School offers an extensive extra-curricular program.  Approximately 93% of the student population is involved in one or more activities, including: 21 sports, instrumental music, hand bells, jazz band, vocal music, dramatics, forensics, International Club, newspaper, debate, cheerleading, dance team, yearbook, scholar bowl, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Pro-Life Club, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America and student council.

Hayden Catholic High School is a member of the Kansas State High School Activities Association and is a 4A Division 2 school.  We compete in the Centennial League.   Hayden has an exceptionally large selection of sports from which to choose and is well known for its athletic accomplishments throughout the state.
